Well see the number one in America song (and the first reggae song for decades to hit number one)"Rude". It's by a Canadian group Magic.

The message is that snobby parents shouldn't dismiss the guy with dreadlocks who plays in a garage band and be rude to him. Of course the song says he wants to marry the girl which is completely counter-culture and unlikely. Even then the parents aren't stupid to question if he would make a great life partner. Of course the girl in all these videos is a beautiful blond.
