A Mexican lawyer member of my church's men's group in San Diego in the early 80's told us of a similar, but worse practice in Tijuana. Periodically a roundup of little children 6 to 8 years old "selling sticks of gum to tourists" (begging) would occur. A police car full would be driven 100 kilometers out of town and the kids just left there. That was one of the many differences between our cultures that he taught/warned us about.

I'm sure in the US they'll reach a point very soon where the police are as afraid to use force as they are here in Canada. Recently a woman in Vancouver was stabbed nearly to death while the police attempted to subdue a knife wielding man with bean bags. The man should have been shot dead long before he got to stabbing the woman but we all know how that would have gone down for them. That's the choice we've made as a society. Protect the rights of criminals over the lives of the innocent. "Room to destroy" indeed.

I think Michael Moore might have blundered on to something.

" Michael Moore

@MMFlint

Next demand: Disarm the police. We have a 1/4 billion 2nd amendment guns in our homes 4 protection. We'll survive til the right cops r hired
2:05 PM - 30 Apr 2015"

I wonder how long these riots in Baltimore and Ferguson would last if citizen militiamen were to be put in charge of local policing. The police we have hired to defend us are now unable to do there jobs due to political correctness. Maybe it is time to cut loose the common man. And that's Michael Moore's idea, not mine!
